ANFA Women’s League: Super League matches to begin from Thursday

KATHMANDU: The Super League stage of the ANFA Women’s League is beginning on Thursday.

Five teams – Nepal APF Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Waling Municipality and Koshi Province – qualified for the Super League from among the 10 teams that participated in the league stage in September. The teams played each other in a single round-robin format during the league stage.

Bagmati Youth Club, Sanakata FC, Chandrapur Municipality, Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province were eliminated from the league stage. However, Bagmati Youth Club got the opportunity to play in the Super League after Koshi Province withdrew.

Nepal APF Club dominated the league stage, winning eight matches and drawing one. It scored 53 goals while conceding only two. Sudurpaschim, which finished 10th, struggled in the league stage, losing all nine matches while conceding 71 goals and scoring only three.

Five teams will compete in a double round-robin format in the Super League, with each team playing against the others twice. The top four teams will advance to play in the Qualifiers, Eliminator, and Finals.

All matches will be held at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato.
