    KATHMANDU:  Nepal is hosting a four-nation women’s football tournament in Kathmandu on February 17-26. According to the All Nepal Football Association, women teams of Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon and Myanmar along with hosts Nepal are participating in the tournament. Of the participating teams, Myanmar (55th) is above Nepal (103rd) in the FIFA ranking, while Kyrgyzstan (128th) and Lebanon (134th) are below Nepal. Nepal defeated Lebanon 2-1 in the 2024 WAFF Women’s Championship. Similarly, Nepal has met Myanmar four times, drawing one and losing three matches. Similarly, Nepal thrashed Kyrgyzstan 8-2 in Najda Cup in 2019.

  KATHMANDU:  The Super League stage of the ANFA Women’s League is beginning on Thursday. Five teams – Nepal APF Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Waling Municipality and Koshi Province – qualified for the Super League from among the 10 teams that participated in the league stage in September. The teams played each other in a single round-robin format during the league stage. Bagmati Youth Club, Sanakata FC, Chandrapur Municipality, Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province were eliminated from the league stage. However, Bagmati Youth Club got the opportunity to play in the Super League after Koshi Province withdrew. Nepal APF Club dominated the league stage, winning eight matches and drawing one.
